Crown Advisory plots 80,000 sq ft Manchester self-storage facility

The 80,000 sq ft facility would provide self-storage space across four floors

Developer Crown Advisory has submitted plans to the city council for an 80,000 sq ft self-storage facility in Manchester. The proposed facility, designed by Create It Studio Architects, would be situated near the O2 Apollo venue and involve converting a vehicle repair site off Hyde Road.

The four-floor building would offer 20 car parking spaces and 10 cycle spaces, with two access points. The project comes at a time of high occupancy rates for self-storage facilities.

Planning consultant Paul Butler Associates, transport consultant Axis, and drainage strategy advisor Brennan Consult are also involved in the project. The popularity of such facilities is growing, with a record 83% rental occupancy reported last year.
